"Her knowledge, expertise, and gentle nature have contributed enormously to our quality of life."
Nancy has made a remarkable difference in our lives. Her knowledge, expertise, and gentle nature have contributed enormously to our quality of life. Little, my 19 year old cat, is a feisty, healthy girl…except for chronic kidney failure. Never liking vet visits, she's always been a handful. When she began requiring daily sub Q fluids and oral meds, I knew going to Family Pet daily was out of the question. I panicked! Our veterinarian, Marla Minuskin, suggested I call Nancy. That was about a year ago. Nancy has forged a relationship with Little that those who know my cat can hardly believe – Little actually runs to greet her! Nancy’s calm and certain demeanor has made Little feel safe and comfortable with being “poked” and treated. Her inventive approach to bonding with Little (she began swaddling her like a baby) was ingenious. I have a challenging work travel schedule and knowing Nancy is caring for Little every day – that I will hear from her every morning after her 6:45am visit with a kind word about how the treatment went – has given me peace of mind that is priceless. We are so fortunate to have Nancy in our lives.

"Nancy Bell truly is a pet caretaker extraordinaire!"
Nancy Bell truly is a pet caretaker extraordinaire! Having helped our family during times of serious illness, unplanned absences, and vacations for the past several years, we know we could not have managed without her. While I was hospitalized for three consecutive months with a life-threatening illness two years ago, Nancy drove 20 minutes each way to our home every day to care for our aging, diabetic and medically-involved, beloved cat. When we were stuck in a blizzard away from home on another occasion, she drove through a similar blizzard here on treacherous roads to give our cat her insulin injection and pills on time.
She follows our routine for medical care and play perfectly, always leaving a note for us with how her visits went. Her great love for animals is evident. Additionally, she checks our home like it was her own, operates the alarm, and brings the mail and newspapers into the house.
Nancy is a mature, responsible adult with extensive vet technical experience, whose care for our cat gives us peace of mind when we are away. One could not find a better person to safeguard your pet home, and we highly recommend her to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Linda Upton & Mark Upton, M.D.
"My vet highly recommended Nancy to me when we discovered my cat had bone marrow cancer and was going to need fluids and multiple meds, western and holistic."
I don't know if I can really put into words what this experience was like, without breaking down. Nancy is incredibly skilled and knowledgeable. Another vet I know and the pharmacist that calibrates drugs for animals even knew of her and had very favorable things to say. But, that is really only the beginning. She was committing to helping me and Jessa, my very precious little companion of thirteen years.
Whatever it took, whether it was filling capsules with holistic powders to putting pills in capsules so Jessa could get multiple meds in a less invasive fashion, she was right there figuring out what would be best and how to do it. She stayed in close touch with me and I was able to relax and treasure the time I had with Jessa, because it wasn't spent with the struggle of how I could get her meds into her.
She never made me feel like I was asking too much, she understood how much Jessa and I loved each other and she was as passionately dedicated to trying to save her life. I will never ever forget her kindness and have already recommended her to a good friend whose cat will be going thru a kidney transplant.
My other cat, Maggie was pretty traumatized, because Jessa was her big sister and there was so much going on. She always asked about Maggie and Maggie (who doesn't love everyone) would actually jump up to see what Nancy was doing. Nancy would clip her claws and feed her treats and treat her like the special little cat that she is.
I would be happy to be available for any information or referrals that would be needed - I trusted her with my most precious baby cat. She honored how important that was and she never let me down.
